What will I be asked to do, if accepted into the program?

Fellows selected into the program will be asked to actively participate in all the workshops and exercises and to hand in an individual journalistic project – a report on a given subject that each fellow will work on under the tutelage of Journey Program’s Mentor. The project proposal is a part of the online application and is explained in more detail there.

The length of the final submission should be between 800 and 1000 words. The deadline for the final project submission will be approximately three weeks after the end of the bootcamp. Submissions will be evaluated by an independent jury and the best works will be rewarded.

When and where will the summer school be taking place?

The Journey: Journalism Bootcamp will be taking place at the beautiful Vila Grébovka, where both accommodation and most of the seminars will be provided. The villa is located near the historic centre of Prague, Czech Republic. Participants will arrive on August 5 and depart on August 15, 2023.

Who receives the scholarship and what does the scholarship cover?

Every applicant accepted into the program will receive a full scholarship from the foundation. The scholarship covers accommodation and meals for the duration of the summer camp, travel expenses such as return flight tickets or bus or train tickets to Prague, transfer within Prague to and from the accommodation facilities upon arrival and departure, and all study materials needed during the course.

  • Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Moldova, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America.
